When do you need a driver’s license translation?
Ivorian licenses are written in French. As soon as yours is shown in a country that does not read French, or a foreign license is shown in Côte d’Ivoire, a translation may be requested.
You live in Abidjan with a foreign license

On its FAQ page, Côte d’Ivoire’s Directorate General of Land Transport and Traffic (DGTTC) lists three documents for driving abroad: a European license, an international driving permit, and a national license with an official translation. It advises checking the agreements between Côte d’Ivoire and the destination country.
